By changing our relationship to work, ourselves, to other people, by finding and expanding the soul of our business, we can align and apply the best or truest parts of ourselves where we’re already spending the most time and energy.
What you don’t need are more tools and forms, more things to do, or more social media tips. Mindfulness, self-awareness techniques, and learning how to see your life as it really is are all powerful steps to getting what you really and truly want.
Your greatest teacher and deepest insight isn’t happening just on retreats, in the pews on weekends, or on the yoga mat. Those things help you to see where your life could be more, but don’t help you to get it. Your life is happening 9-5, Mondays through Fridays. It’s actually happening where you’re spending the majority of your time and energy professionally.

Timothy Harrington

Tim is founder and Chief Inspiration Officer of Family Addiction Recovery Services. He's also founder of Sustainable Recovery, Inc. and the founder of Launch Pad Discover Your Purpose Services. Tim is a prominent voice in the field of emotional health and addiction recovery. He is an active participant in the movement to reduce social stigma around addiction and emotional health illness challenges.
His professional mission as a coach, interventionist, personal discovery strategist, and family recovery support specialist is to meet family members/parents with a struggling loved one exactly where they are and attend to their particular needs. He does this with a personalized and comprehensive, continuum of support strategy, that includes modern, relevant, and comprehensive family recovery education, training and ongoing support.
Tim, as result of his own struggles with drugs as as solution to his life challenges, has worked in the field of behavioral health for 18 years, starting out as a residential technician at Promises Rehabilitation Center in Malibu, CA. From there he became a "sober companion" meaning he lived with clients 24/7 over several weeks to assist their transition from residential treatment back to their high pressure home environment and occupations. In 2008 he and his wife, Robyn moved to Carbondale, Colorado from Los Angeles to raise their two daughters. In 2019 the family sold everything, got on a remodeled school bus, traveled the US, and spoke at 25 events and on the three major television networks about the elimination of addiction and mental health illness related stigma. The travel adventure returned them to Southern California to reconnect with friends and colleagues but especially family.
Carbondale is where he founded Sustainable Recovery, Inc. out of an intense curiosity for how one can create a personal, alternative strategy for not just stopping the use of drugs as a solution to emotional and physical pain but rather, staying stopped. Since moving to Colorado he has trained as an interventionist and a family recovery coach which have all contributed to refining the concept of "sustainable recovery/discovery" or "sustainable change". Tim has also spent every summer for the last 7 years doing intensive healing work on himself in order to sustain his own recovery, including attending workshops and programs like Onsite in Tennessee and The Bridge to Recovery in Kentucky.
Since moving back to California, Tim has continued helping families and has also invested in a behavior healthcare app, NuLife Virtual, to help brick and mortar treatment centers leverage technology to impact more lives that desperately need help and support.
Tim fulfills himself through connecting with others, honoring his highest values, and participating fully in his own life as a father, husband, coach, thought leader, and emotional wellness advocate.
Today, Tim and his wife, Robyn who works for Eating Recovery Center and two daughters Lilly and Chloe make their home in Denver's Stapleton neighborhood.
In Tim's life, his biggest voids ultimately created his highest values—as they do, ultimately, in every life.
